From the runway to the factory floor.

A new model for fashion.

About us

The Model Alliance is a New York-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that advances workers’ rights in the fashion industry. From establishing child labor protections in the modeling industry to creating a lookback window for adult survivors of sexual abuse to pursue justice, we have made meaningful strides towards a safer, more equitable fashion industry and world.

MA Support

Fashion workers, we’re here to help. Through MA Support, we assist working and aspiring models and creatives with complaints about inappropriate on-the-job conduct, agent issues, and other work-related problems.

Unemployment

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we published a tailored guide for models who are seeking information about how to file an unemployment insurance claim. We have included information relevant to New York, California, and Florida.

Modeling Scams

Unfortunately, young and aspiring models are often the targets of modeling scams that are potentially dangerous. We have created a guide detailing the most common warning signs of modeling scams and advice for staying safe.

The Fashion Workers Act (S.2477B/A.5631B) is first in the nation legislation that would finally extend basic labor protections to models and content creators working in New York’s fashion industry.
