Model Alliance Welcomes Three New Board Members

Labor attorney Audrey Winn elected Board Chair

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of three new members to our Board of Directors:

  • Audrey Winn, Assistant Counsel, Major League Baseball Players Association and former Skadden Fellow and Advisory Board Member, Model Alliance

  • Daniel Cohn, Executive Director, Joly Family Foundation

  • Vijay Simhan, Senior Portfolio Director, Forced Labor & Human Trafficking, Humanity United

They join current board members Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, Caitlin Rooney, Carré Sutton, Christopher Kercher, Benjamin Skinner, and Sara Ziff.

We’re also pleased to announce that Winn has been elected Board Chair. After a year of dedicated service in the role, Skinner is passing the torch and will continue to serve on the Board of Directors.

“We’re excited to welcome Daniel Cohn, Vijay Simhan, and Audrey Winn to the Model Alliance’s Board of Directors, and to serve under Audrey’s leadership,” said Skinner. “Daniel and Vijay bring extensive experience at the intersection of philanthropy, human rights, and corporate accountability, and Audrey is a brilliant legal mind with a longstanding commitment to workers’ rights. We’re eager to build on our progress together.”

“I first joined the Model Alliance as a legal fellow during the early days of the #MeToo movement,” said Winn. “Since that time, I have seen the organization help hundreds of workers access unemployment during COVID, expose and challenge industry-wide sexual and economic abuse, and pass landmark legislation including the Fashion Workers Act. It has been an honor to witness the Model Alliance blaze a path forward in the labor movement, and I look forward to being part of this next chapter.”

“The Model Alliance has delivered meaningful progress for workers in an industry long overdue for accountability,” said Cohn. “I’m honored to support the next phase of that work.”

“Model Alliance has fundamentally reshaped labor rights and safety in the fashion industry,” said Simhan. “It’s my privilege to join their board to help build on this remarkable legacy and advance equity and dignity for workers.”

For nearly 14 years, the Model Alliance has advanced labor rights in the fashion industry through strategic research, worker-led campaigns, and direct support. Our Board—made up of worker leaders, labor advocates, and legal and policy experts—helps guide and strengthen this work.

“With the Fashion Workers Act now in effect and AI rapidly reshaping the industry, we’re entering a pivotal moment for the Model Alliance,” said Ziff, Founder and Executive Director. “I’m deeply grateful to Ben for his leadership, and look forward to working with Audrey, Daniel, Vijay and the rest of the board as we chart what’s next.”
